The Gujarat government plans to extend the "Cooperation among Cooperatives" initiative to all 33 districts after a successful pilot in two districts. It aims to centralise bank accounts and deposits of cooperative societies for increased financial liquidity and loan accessibility. Over 4 lakh new accounts were opened, resulting in a significant boost of over Rs 966 crore in bank deposits. As many as 1,700 micro ATMs have been installed to enhance financial services at the village level.
